ORLANDO – The UCF men's basketball team added the first member to its 2020-21 class on Thursday, signing Isaiah Adams to a National Letter of Intent, Knights head coach Johnny Dawkins announced today.
Adams is currently a senior at the Paxon School for Advanced Studies in Jacksonville, where he led the Golden Eagles to their first Florida High School Athletic Association final four since 1965. Adams and Paxon fell in the semifinals to Lakewood.
"Isaiah is a promising young player and we can't wait to get him on campus," Dawkins said. "He is an athletic and versatile wing who does a number of things well. It will be exciting having him as a member of our UCF family."
Adams had a standout junior season, averaging 19.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game in 2018-19. He was named Times-Union First Coast Player of the Year, Florida Dairy Farmers Class 6A Player of the Year and All-Gateway Conference.
A four-star recruit by ESPN, Adams also earned three stars from Rivals and 247 Sports. He has been ranked as high as the sixth best player in the state of Florida.
