Decamps Wins Nationals Consolation Crown

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (UCFKnights.com) – After stringing together five consecutive victories in the ITA National Fall Championships, Gabriel Decamps was crowned the consolation bracket champion on Sunday.

No. 29 Decamps was matched up with South Carolina's Raphael Lambling in the consolation final. After dropping his original match in the main draw, Decamps was able to piece together four straight victories. There was little room for error in the match, as Decamps went on to prevail in a tight contest by a count of 6-4, 6-4.

UCF's fall season came to a close as a pair of Knights finished their time at the Wake Forest Invitational. Manoel Alencar and Mikhail Sokolovskiy paired up to defeat Dukes Furman/Zhang in a close 6-4 match.

In singles play, Sokolovskiy topped Campbell's Bastien Huon in three sets, winning 6-1, 1-6, 6-4. Alencar would fall to Wake Forest's Yuval Solomon by a count of 6-3, 6-0.
