DOTHAN, Ala. (UCFKnights.com) – Former UCF men's golfer Connor Arendell qualified to the final stage of the Korn Ferry qualifying school after shooting 283(-5) in the second stage at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, taking place from Tuesday, November 5 through Friday, November 8 in Dothan, Alabama.
By successfully advancing through Second Stage of Q-School, a player obtains Korn Ferry Tour membership for the following season, and can improve his status via Final Stage.
Final Stage will be held December 12-15 at Orange County National just outside of Orlando, Florida.
The top-40 and ties at Final Stage will secure guaranteed starts for the early portion of the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season – Nos. 11-40 and ties will receive approximately eight starts, Nos. 2-10 and ties will receive approximately 12 starts, and the medalist and ties will receive fully exempt 2020 status.
Arendell, who qualified for the U.S. Open earlier this summer, shot a stage best 268(-20) to finish first overall in the first stage, which included a final-round, 4-under 68.
In two seasons at UCF, Arendell averaged 73.46 strokes per round after competing in 23 tournaments. In his second season, Arendell averaged 72.43, one of the best single-season averages in program history. The Cape Coral native helped UCF win back-to-back Conference USA titles and two NCAA Regional appearances.
