ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – For the fourth consecutive year, the UCF men's soccer team has earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for their outstanding efforts in the classroom.
The Knights garnered a 3.21 grade point average for the 2018-19 season including a 3.23 mark during the fall semester while the Black and Gold were in season.
20 student-athletes earned over a 3.0 GPA during that fall semester with Andres Hernandez Betancur leading the way with a perfect 4.0.
This is the seventh time since 2009 that UCF has received the award.
A total of 992 soccer teams (345 men, 647 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year.
UCF was one of 258 schools with both the men's and women's programs earning the accolade.

An important match lies ahead of the Knights as they jump back into conference play with a huge match. UCF will visit No. 4 SMU on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET with a chip on their shoulder. The Mustangs have defeated the Knights for the past two seasons in the American Athletic Conference tournament championship. The winner of this match could very well determine the regular season champion.
