GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After a phenomenal appearance in the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi earned runner-up status as he fell in a tight finals match on Monday afternoon.
No. 82 Grassi Mazzuchi squared off with the tournament's No. 4 seeded No. 52 Duarte Vale out of Florida. The two were neck in neck for the entirety of the match, but in the end it was Vale pulling out the 6-4, 6-4 win as he became the main singles draw champion.
As the tournament's No. 10 seed, Grassi Mazzuchi was able to string together five wins in the tournament, more than doubling his fall total so far.
