No. 21 UCF Picks Up Third Straight Shutout

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Extra time was not enough to find a goal on Sunday, as the No. 21 ranked UCF women's soccer team (8-2-4, 3-1-2 AAC) earned their third clean sheet in a row in a scoreless draw with the UConn Huskies (6-8-2, 2-5-1) Sunday afternoon. The shutout was the Knights seventh shutout of the 2019 campaign.

Standout Stats

  • With the back-to-back-to-back clean sheets, Caroline DeLisle and the Knights defense now have seven shutouts on the season.
  • UCF earned seven corner kicks in the first half of the match and finished the game with 13 corners.
  • UConn and the Knights each had nine shots and two on goal in the match. The most pressure UCF applied in the match came in the first half with five shots from the Knights.
  • Kristen Scott gave the Knights the best chance in the first half, putting a shot off the right post in the 67th minute.

NEXT UP
The Black and Gold will take to the road for their last two away games of the regular season. UCF will travel to Greenville, N.C. to take on East Carolina on Thursday, Oct. 24, and will continue on to Cincinnati to take on the BearCats on Sunday, Oct. 27.
