Chad Brown Signs Exhibit 10 with Dallas Mavericks

ORLANDO – Chad Brown became the fourth Knight from the 2018-19 team to sign a contract with an NBA organization on Thursday. The former UCF men's basketball forward signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Dallas Mavericks.

Following his career in Orlando, Brown played in the NBA Las Vegas Summer League with the Magic, appearing in one game.

Brown was then selected to play on the NBA G League Elite Team in the G League International Challenge. The only rookie on the team, Brown led the squad with 7.3 rebounds to go with seven points, two blocks and a steal in four contests in Uruguay.

The Mavericks signed Brown to an Exhibit 10 contract that will keep him with the team at least through the rest of preseason. If he doesn't remain with the team, he will likely be sent to the organization's G League affiliate, the Texas Legends in Frisco.

Brown appeared in 116 games in four seasons at UCF, averaging 4.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He left Orlando with the seventh most blocks in program history, swatting away 97 shots in his career.

The Dallas Mavericks open up regular season action on Wednesday, Oct. 23 against the Washington Wizards, while the Texas Legends start the regular season on Friday, Nov. 8 against the Memphis Hustle in Southaven, Mississippi.

Brown joins teammates Tacko Fall, Aubrey Dawkins, and BJ Taylor who have signed NBA deals this summer. Fall recently earned a two-way deal with the Boston Celtics, while Dawkins signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the New Orleans Pelicans immediately after the draft. Taylor, meanwhile, signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the LA Clippers on Wednesday.
