ORLANDO – Another Knight has signed with an NBA team. The Los Angeles Clippers announced Wednesday that they signed former UCF star BJ Taylor to an Exhibit 10 contract.
Taylor played in the NBA Summer League with the Orlando Magic after his illustrious career with the Knights, where he ranks seventh all-time with 1,618 career points scored.
The Clippers signed Taylor to the deal that will likely send him east of the Clippers to Rancho Cucamonga to play for LA's NBA G League affiliate, the Agua Caliente Clippers.
Taylor averaged 15.9 points per game as a senior at UCF, earning first team all-conference and first team all-district honors. He led the Knights to their first at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament and their first tourney win, a first round triumph over VCU.
The LA Clippers open up regular season action on Tuesday, Oct. 22 against the LA Lakers, while the Agua Caliente Clippers start the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 9 against the Northern Arizona Suns in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
Taylor joins teammates Tacko Fall and Aubrey Dawkins, who have signed NBA deals this summer. Fall recently earned a two-way deal with the Boston Celtics, while Dawkins signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the New Orleans Pelicans immediately after the draft.
