ABOUT THE PIRATES
• ECU is in its first season under head coach Mike Houston, who accumulated an overall head coaching record of 80-25 in eight previous seasons, most recently guiding James Madison to back-to-back FCS Championship Games and one national title.
• The Pirates are 3-3 in their first season under Houston, having won two home games over Gardner-Webb and William & Mary, and one on the road at Old Dominion.
• Holton Ahlers has thrown for 1,142 yards and six touchdowns, but has been picked off five times in six games of 2019.

• This weekend's game takes place on Homecoming at UCF, with plenty of festivities throughout the week, including the most unique tradition in the nation, UCF's Spirit Splash. Watching thousands of UCF students sprint into the reflection pond never gets old.
• The Knights have had success on Homecoming, holding a 28-12 all-time record.

• The Knights have been dangerous on big plays in 2019, ranking second in the nation heading into this past weekend with 46 plays from scrimmage that went for 20 or more yards.
• Including returns, the Knights have 54 total explosive plays, 19 of which have gone for touchdowns.
• Gabriel Davis leads the Knights with 12 explosive plays, including four touchdowns of 20 yards or more.
• Adrian Killins Jr. (7), Otis Anderson (6), Tre Nixon (6) and Marlon Williams (6) have all played a role in the offensive explosion for UCF.
UCFIERCE NOTE

• The UCF defense has looked solid in 2019, ranking in the top 35 in the nation in both total defense and scoring defense.
• The Knights forced 13 Florida A&M punts in week one, which was a new program record for UCF. Winning 62-0, it marked UCF's first shutout since Sept. 8, 2018, a 38-0 win over South Carolina State.
• At home, UCF is holding its opponents to just 16 points per game.
• UCF's third-down defense has been especially impressive, ranking sixth in the nation by holding opponents to just 27.5 percent success on third down.
