On Tuesday, October 8th, the office of student-athlete welfare and development hosted its mock interview event. Over 30 Knights participated from a variety of sports, including men's basketball, women's basketball, football, softball, rowing, men's soccer and track and field. In addition, over 25 companies participated by volunteering their time and supporting the professional development of the UCF student-athletes.
This night served as an opportunity for student-athletes to practice their interview skills with those in hiring positions to prepare them for their real first interviews. Interview styles included phone, Skype, and in person. In addition to the interviews, student-athletes also received immediate feedback on their performance and even started the conversation on future internship and job opportunities.
The mock interview event is an amazing opportunity for Knights to gain confidence and experience in preparation for life after sport.
"I learned so much about my strengths and weaknesses as an interviewee and I feel so much more confident going into the workforce and being able to have these conversations with employers."
