ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Head Todd Dagenais has unveiled the 2019 UCF Volleyball Ring of Honor Class as the Knights plan to honor Renata Menchikova, who was a standout for UCF Volleyball from 1995 to 1997, during the upcoming alumni weekend on November 1.

The ceremony will take place following the second set of the Knights' match against USF.

In her time with the Knights, Menchikova led UCF in kills and aces all-three seasons that she played and led the team in digs during 1996 and 1997 seasons. She holds the school records for career kills (2151) and kills per game (5.85). She is also the record holder for kills in a single game (42), holding the top five kill totals.

"It gives us great pleasure to be able to honor Renata by inducting her into the UCF Volleyball Ring of Honor," Dagenais said, "When you think of UCF Volleyball in the mid-to-late 90's, the very first person that has to come to mind is Renata and how she carried the torch for the program and the success of the program.

"Renata's dominance is evidenced by everything you see in the record books. Her name is listed everywhere in terms of kills – she is the all-time kill leader here. She holds so many great records and a lot of banners are hanging up right now because of those teams and especially her effort on those teams. We regard her as the greatest attacker that has ever been here. She is hall-of-famer for UCF athletics and she is long overdue to have her name hanging from the rails around the court here at The Venue. We are very proud that she is a part of our tradition and we are looking forward to having her back and dropping a banner for her."

Menchikova was named to the All-Atlantic Sun First Team and Atlantic Sun All-Tournament Team for the three seasons that she was on the team. She was also named the Atlantic Sun Tournament MVP in 1995 and the Atlantic Sun Player of the Year in 1996.
