Knights Continue Season at FSU Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla, (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF cross country team is headed to Tallahassee Friday morning for the Florida State Invitational. The 5k will begin at 8:20 a.m.

The FSU Invitational features 32 women's teams, including Florida, Miami, Jacksonville, South Florida, Stetson and the host Seminoles. The race features the largest field of collegiate runners in the history of the FSU Invitational, which will be contested at Apalachee Regional Park, site of the 2021 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.
 
UCF returns to action after a big win at the UCF Invitational, its first 6k of the season. Three Knights finished in the top five, which led the team to its first meet victory since 2017.
 
Jessica Dolan paced the squad with a second-place finish in a personal best time of 22:32.90.
 
Jamie Tomassetti looks to build on her early success, being UCF's top finisher for the first two races of the season. She also joined Dolan in the top three at the UCF Invitational.  
 
Charlotte Crook made her season debut at the UCF Invitational, placing fifth with a time of 22:54.6 in her first collegiate 6k.
 
Friday will be the Knights' first time back at the FSU Invitational in three years. Last time in Tallahassee, they went neck and neck with Jacksonville, ending in a tie.
 
After going to the sixth-place finisher, UCF reigned victorious placing second out of seven teams.
 
Following the FSU Invitational, the Knights open postseason at the 2019 American Athletic Conference Championship. Slated for a 10 a.m. start in Memphis, Tenn., the Knights will line up for a 6K at Shelby Farms Park on Nov.1.
