ABOUT THE CARDINAL

• The Cardinal have finished with a winning record each of the previous eight seasons under Shaw, going 9-4 and winning the Sun Bowl last season.

• Cameron Scarlett has led the Stanford ground attack through two games, rushing for 179 yards on 39 carries with one score.

• The Cardinal have picked off two passes in two games, as Paulson Adebo and Andrew Pryts have both recorded interceptions in 2019.

ORLANDO'S HOMETOWN TEAM NOTE
picked to win the american
• UCF was picked to win the American Athletic Conference by the polling media at this year's American Kickoff in Newport, R.I.
• The Knights have won six conference championships in program history, but last season was the first time they were predicted to win their league. UCF is now 1-0 when picked to win the league and will aim to keep that record perfect in 2019.

UCFAST NOTE
gabriel gets the nod
• True freshman Dillon Gabriel had success off the bench in the week one win over FAMU and then led the Knights to victory on the road in his first career start in week two against FAU.
• Gabriel has completed 16-of-32 passes for 372 yards and five touchdowns, while rushing for another in his first two collegiate games.
• The Hawaiian ranks seventh in the nation with a 199.2 passing efficiency rating, 25th with his five touchdown passes, and leads the nation with 23.25 yards per completion. His 11.63 yards per pass attempt also rank fourth in the nation.
• Notre Dame transfer Brandon Wimbush saw success in game one, while redshirt freshman Quadry Jones has still yet to throw an incompletion in four career attempts.

UCFIERCE NOTE
deep defensive backfield
• The UCF secondary looks like its running back, wide receiver or offensive line groups when talking about depth, which will be needed after Brandon Moore's injury suffered in week one.
• First-team all-conference member Richie Grant ranked third in the nation with six interceptions last year, while Nevelle Clarke's 13 pass break-ups led the Knights.
• Aaron Robinson, lining up at nickel, has recorded two break-ups in each of the first two games, ranking him fifth in the nation for passes defended.
• Newcomer Tay Gowan picked up UCF's first turnover of 2019, grabbing an second-half interception at FAU.
