ORLANDO – After helping to lead the UCF men's basketball team back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in over a decade, Dayon Griffin is set to start his professional career for the Al Ain Basketball Club.
Al Ain BC plays in the UAE National Basketball League, the top professional league in the United Arab Emirates.
Griffin makes the move overseas after a successful summer that saw the St. Petersburg, Florida native workout for the Orlando Magic prior to the NBA Draft.
A two-year player for UCF, Griffin averaged 4.6 points per game and knocked down 25 three-pointers as a senior during the 2018-19 season. He had seven points on 3-of-5 shooting in the Knights' historic first-round NCAA Tournament victory over VCU.
