UCF Set to Tee-Off at Prairie Club Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Following a strong start to the 2019-20 season, including a first overall finish at the Hartford Hawks Invitational last time out, the UCF men's golf team will head to Valentine, Nebraska to compete in the Prairie Club Invitational hosted by South Dakota State University, from September 29-30.

The event will take place at the par-72, 7,396-yard Dunes Course at Prairie Club and will include UCF, South Dakota State, Missouri, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, Northern Illinois and Nebraska.
 
Tee times for the first two rounds begin on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. from holes one and 10. The final round will take place on Monday at 9 a.m., also off of holes one and 10. Score updates will be provided following each round of the invitational here on UCFKnights.com, as well as via golfstat.com.

UCF is coming off the Hartford Hawks Invitational (South Kent, Conn.), where the Knights finished first after shooting 840(-24) through three rounds of play. The victory marked the second straight for the Knights at the Hartford Hawks Invitational after they also won in 2018 with a total of 550(-26).

Johny Travale led the way for the Knights, shooting 69(-3) in his best round and totaling 209(-7) to finish tied for fifth place.

Below is the qualifying information that determined the lineup for the Prairie Club Invitational.
 
Tommy Cao will miss the tournament since he is competing in the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship at Sheshan International Golf Club in Shangha, China. If he were to win the 72-hole tournament, he would qualify for the 2020 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Ga.


Qualifying Information

  1. Johnny Travale is exempt for the 2019 Prairie Club Invitational by virtue of a Top-5 finish at the 2019 Hartford Hawk Invitational.
  2. Jordan Sarhaddi qualified for the 2019 Prairie Club Invitational by winning the three-round qualifier with a score of +1.
  3. Clement Charmasson qualified for the 2019 Prairie Club Invitational by finishing tied 2nd in the three-round qualifier with a score of +4.

The following players were selected to play an 18 hole playoff for the 4th and 5th spot in the line-up for the coaches' selections based upon their qualifying finishes as well as their performances in tournaments for the current year.

  1. Guillermo Estivill will play in the 4th spot in the lineup as a coaches' selection for the 2019 Prairie Club Invitational by virtue of finishing tied 2nd in the three rounds of the qualifying with a score of +4 as well as finishing tied 1st in the 18 hole playoff.
  2. Teddy Tetak will play in the 5th spot in the lineup as a coaches' selection for the 2019 Prairie Club Invitational by virtue of finishing 4th in the three rounds of the qualifying with a score of +6 as well as finishing tied 1st in the 18 hole playoff. 

Juan Delgado will participate as an individual at the 2019 Jackrabbit Invitational by virtue of the finishing 3rd in the 18 hole playoff. Juan received a coaches' selection to participant in the 18-hole playoff by virtue of a top-20 finish at the Island Resort Intercollegiate.
