ORLANDO – The UCF football team dismantled UConn in its first American Athletic Conference game of the season on Saturday, and on Sunday the Knights rose four spots in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, climbing back into the top 20 at 18th overall.
UCF jumped ahead of USC, Michigan, California and Virginia in this week's poll, accumulating 352 total points.
The Knights also rose four spots in the Amway Coaches Poll, totaling 308 points to rank 19th.
For the first time this season, UCF was joined in the polls by fellow American Athletic Conference teams. Memphis came in at tied for 23rd in the Coaches Poll, while SMU is 24th in the AP Top 25 this week.
With the win over UConn, the Knights improved to 35-3 all-time when ranked in the Top 25. UCF looks to continue improving on that impressive record next weekend, playing at Cincinnati Friday at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
UCF has been ranked in 33 straight Top 25 poll releases, dating back to week six of the 2017 season, and it marks the 44th time in history the Knights have been in the Top 25.
