Katie McCain '07, recently won an Emmy Award for her part in the Nike "Dream Crazy" commercial.
The ad earned the Outstanding Commercial Award during the 71st annual Emmy Awards.
McCain served as lead producer for the popular commercial featuring Colin Kaepernick, former UCF football player Shaquem Griffin, Serena Williams and countless other athletes.
She works for Wieden+Kennedy advertising agency, a company who produces commercials for Nike. She has been with them since 2017 where she has also produced the "Dream Further" commercial for Nike that promoted the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup.
The "Dream Crazy" ad beat out Apple's "Behind the Mac" and "Shot on iPhone" campaigns as well as Netflix's "A Great Day in Hollywood" campaign.
The ad campaign was centered around the former 49ers quarterbacks tweet that read "Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything". It was a part of Nike's 30th anniversary celebration of the "Just Do It" platform.
