UCF to Begin American Athletic Conference Play

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Coming off a successful trip to California that saw the Knights (5-1-2) extend their unbeaten streak to seven matches, the UCF women's soccer team welcomes the No. 11 Memphis Tigers (8-1) on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.

The Knights

  • Going 2-0 last week in California, UCF extended their winning streak to five matches and unbeaten streak to seven.
  • For the third week in a row, the Knights are receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
  • Three Knights earned American Athletic Conference weekly awards after last week's performances. Ellie Moreno earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Konya Plummer and Caroline DeLisle earned Defensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively.
  • In her Rookie of the Week performance, Ellie Moreno netted a game-winning goal in the 90th minute against Long Beach State – her second of the season.
  • An Honorable Mention in the American weekly awards, Kristen Scott netted her team-leading fifth goal of the season with her match ending goal in OT at UC Irvine.
  • The Knights have outscored their opponents 17-6 through eight matches this season, scoring an average 2.13 goals per game.

Memphis Tigers

  • Starting the season at No. 20 in the United Soccer Coaches poll, the Tigers have moved up to No. 11 after posting an 8-1 record in non-conference play.
  • Memphis is currently riding a six-game winning streak after their lone loss coming to then-ranked No. 18 Kansas in their third match of the season.
  • Outscoring opponents 27-3 through nine games, the Tigers are scoring an average of three goals a match – the most of any of UCF opponents thus far.
  • Elizabeth Moberg, the Memphis goalkeeper, has only allowed three goals all season and averages allowing 0.149 goals per game. Moberg has also collected seven clean sheets through nine matches.
  • Leading the Tigers with nine goals, Clarissa Larisey has started all nine matches for Memphis.

The UCF women's soccer team is hosting a pre-match meet and greet with Orlando Pride players including UCF Alumna Bridget Callahan, as well as Danica Evans and Claire Emslie.
