UCF Rises to #12 in Latest Poll

United Soccer Coaches Poll - Week 4 Top Drawer Soccer Poll

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After going 2-0 last week, the UCF men's soccer team rises one spot to No. 12 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.

The Knights performed at a high level this week, defeating FGCU who had received votes 4-1 and blanking South Carolina 2-0. Cal Jennings netted three of UCF's six goals in the past two matches while Gino Vivi added two of his own. The Black and Gold got ahead of their opponents early, scoring within the first seven minutes of their last two matches.

UCF's ranking of No. 12 is the highest of the 2019 campaign thus far. The Knights checked in at No. 13 last week which was their previous best of the season. The Black and Gold started the season at No. 15 and have worked their way up the rankings after a 5-1-1 start to their schedule. At 12th in the nation, this is the highest UCF has been ranked since they were No. 9 on Oct. 23 last season.

The Knights have been ranked for almost an entire calendar year. They broke into the rankings on October 9th, 2018 when they were ranked No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. Since then, UCF has reached a program best ranking of No. 7 during last season and finished last season as the 18th best team in the nation. The Black and Gold were the No. 14 national seed in last year's tournament.

Top Drawer Soccer has the Knights moving up from No. 17 to No. 14 this week. UCF has been up and down in their rankings, climbing as high as No. 11 and falling as far as No. 19 this season.
