UCF Releases 2019 Fall Tournament Schedule

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's tennis team will participate in 13 competitions throughout their fall tournament schedule after their best dual match season in program history. The Knights will travel from coast to coast as they continue to match up with top level competition throughout the fall.

The Knights begin their 2019-20 season with a busy slate, as they'll be in action on opposite ends of the United States in one weekend. Valeriya Zeleva, who will start the season as the No. 29 singles player in the country, gets a chance to participate in the Oracle ITA Masters in Malibu, Calif. The tournament welcomes some of college tennis' top singles players in the country from Sept. 26-29.

At the same time, multiple UCF players will be competing in the USTA Fall Collegiate Classic at the UCF Collegiate Tennis Center at the USTA National Campus. No. 98 Rebeka Stolmar, Marie Mattel and Nandini Sharma will be participating in the singles draw of the tournament beginning on Sept. 27. Additionally, No. 31 Stolmar/Mattel and Sharma alongside Domenika Turkovic will be playing in the doubles draw which begins the entire tournament. Some of the nation's best teams will have players participating, including South Carolina, Oklahoma State, Miami, Florida and Ohio State.

UCF will roll right into two more overlapping tournaments, taking part in the ITF $15K in Norman, Okla. from Sept. 30-Oct. 6 and the Bedford Cup from Oct. 4-6 at FGCU in Ft. Myers, Fla. Stolmar, Turkovic and Ksenia Kuznetsova advanced to the quarterfinals of last season's Bedford Cup hosted at the USTA National Campus. Stolmar earned a pair of runner-up finishes to headline the tournament for UCF.

The Knights will take place in another two simultaneous tournaments, the ITF $25K in Hilton Head, N.C. and the ITA All-Ameican Championships in Tulsa, Okla. from Oct. 7-13.

The Black and Gold will begin the second half of their fall season in Florence, S.C. as they'll participate in an ITF $25K tournament from Oct. 14-20. UCF follows that tournament up with the ITA Regional Championships in Tallahassee, Fla. from Oct. 18-21.

UCF ends October in Austin, Texas taking part in an ITF 15K tournament. November begins with the Knights competing in the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Classic in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. from Nov. 1-3 before returning to Tallahassee for the FSU Invite from Nov. 8-10.

The Knights wrap up their tournament slate with a pair of ITF $25K competitions in Orlando and Naples. Those will take place from Nov. 11-17 and Nov. 18-24 respectively.
