Three Knights Earn American Honors

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Three members of the UCF women's soccer team were recognized by the American Athletic Conference after winning two games in California this week.
Ellie Moreno earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Konya Plummer and Caroline DeLisle earned Defensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week honors, respectively.

Ellie Moreno came off the bench against Long Beach State and provided the game-winning goal in the 90th minute to secure the Knights first victory in California.

Konya Plummer anchored the backline as the Knights held Long Beach State to a lone goal, and UC Irvine scoreless through regulation and nine minutes of overtime.

In UCF's two matches, Caroline DeLisle tallied 189 minutes, made eight total saves, allowed a lone goal against Long Beach State and earned her third clean sheet of the season in the Knights OT victory at UC Irvine.

Kristen Scott was also named to the Honor Roll after her efforts to net an OT game-winner at UC Irvine.

Returning to the UCF Soccer Complex, the Knights will host Memphis for their first American Athletic Conference matchup on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. They will continue conference play in Orlando against Tulsa on Sunday, Sept. at 1 p.m.
