ORLANDO – Having previously announced the non-conference portion, the American Athletic Conference released the rest of the UCF men's basketball team's 2019-20 schedule on Friday, which begins with a home game on New Year's Eve against Temple.
The Knights, coming off of their best season in program history, will face a challenging conference slate after taking on Miami, Oklahoma, Illinois State, Charleston and more in non-conference play.
After matching up with the Owls at Addition Financial Arena on Dec. 31, UCF's only game against Temple this season, the team will play two straight on the road, taking on defending regular season champion Houston on Jan. 3 and then playing at SMU on Jan. 8. It's also the only game against Houston in 2019-20.
The Knights then return home to host last season's conference tournament champion, the Cincinnati Bearcats, on Jan. 11. UCF makes the return trip to Cincinnati on Feb. 19.
UCF goes to New Orleans for a Jan. 14 contest against Tulane, with the Green Wave returning to Orlando on Feb. 22.
The first installment of the War On I-4 during the 2019-20 campaign will be on Jan. 18 as South Florida comes to Addition Financial Arena for a Saturday matchup with the Knights. The game in Tampa is set for another Saturday, this one on Feb. 1.
The newest member of the league, Wichita State welcomes UCF back to Kansas for a Jan. 25 battle, and will return to Orlando on Feb. 13.
The only matchup of the season against Penny Hardaway and the Memphis Tigers will be Jan. 29 in Orlando.
The Knights travel to Greenville, North Carolina, for a Feb. 6 contest against ECU with the Pirates returning to Orlando for Senior Day on Sunday, March 8, UCF's regular season finale.
The first of two games against Tulsa is set for Feb. 9 in Orlando, with the return trip to Oklahoma scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 29 at the Reynolds Center.
Finally, the Knights' lone game against UConn is set for Feb. 26 in Connecticut.
