SOUTH KENT, Conn. (UCFKnights.com) – The Knights kicked off the Hartford Hawks Invitational with a strong first day on Monday, shooting 564(-12) through the first 36 holes.
UCF, who finished first at the event last year by shooting 550(-26), is off to a strong start once again this year as they lead the pack with their 564 two-round total.
Clement Charmasson, Johnny Travale and Tommy Cao all shot under par in the first round with a total of 71(-1). They each sit tied for ninth place individually with that total. Meanwhile, Guillermo Estivill shot an even 72 for par while Jordan Sarhaddi shot 74(+2).
Competing individually, Teddy Tetak shot a 72 on the day while Colin Kresl finished with 73(+1) in the first round.
UCF looked even stronger in the second round, shooting a collective 279(-9), with Travale pacing the Knights by shooting 69(-3) for a 140(-4) total on the day. The full UCF leaderboard can be viewed below.
The Black and Gold currently lead by four strokes at the end of day one. The second and final day of the Hartford Hawks Invitational will begin tomorrow, September 17, at 8:00 am.
