Two UCF Alums Advance at European Tour Qualifying School

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Two former UCF Men's Golf athletes, Jusso Kahlos and Linus Väisänen, have qualified through the first stage of the European Tour qualifying school which took place from September 10 – 13 in Arlandastad, Sweden. The pair were two of just 15 players to qualify for the second stage.

Kahlos finished tied for eighth place after four rounds of qualifying. He shot 64-70-76-70 for a 280(E) total to punch his ticket to the second stage. Kahlos's first round total of 64(-6) was the lowest out of all scores on the first day, with Väisänen holding the second lowest total on the first day at 65.

Väisänen also finished the first stage tied for eighth place, shooting 65-68-74-73 for a 280(E) total. Väisänen's first day was his best as well as he shot 65(-5) on the Par 70, 6854-yard course.

The European Tour Qualifying School is held in three stages, with the final stage being played over six rounds at PGA Golf Catalunya in Spain. The top 25 players win their card on the European Tour, and those finishing outside the top 25 gain a place on the Challenge Tour, with those making the cut being ranked in a higher exemption category.
