ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Following her first top five finish as a Knight, freshman Jamie Tomassetti was named the American Athletic Conference Runner of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
 
In her first collegiate race, Tomassetti was UCF's top finisher at the FAU Cross Country Invitational on Aug. 30. She crossed the line fourth overall with a time of 18:38.16.
 
The Greenbrook, New Jersey, native is the first Knight to pick up the league's Runner of the Week honors since Anne-Marie Blaney earned the distinction twice in 2016.
 
UCF returns to action Sept. 14 at the Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville.
