ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s soccer team looks to bounce back as the Knights host North Texas for its second and final preseason exhibition of 2019.
UCF welcomes North Texas for a 10 a.m. contest at the UCF Soccer Complex.
Knight Notes
- UCF continues its preseason with an exhibition with North Texas – the first match between the two programs.
- On Tuesday, Senior Konya Plummer and sophomore Kristen Scott were recognized by the American Athletic Conference after being named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.
- Plummer appeared in 10 games on the UCF backline a season ago, tallying five complete games.
- Scott started all 18 games in her freshman season, netting six goals and tying for the second-most of the Knights.
- In its first exhibition of the preseason, the Knights were shutout on the road against Alabama in a 3-0 loss.
Scouting the Mean Green
- North Texas comes into the 2019 slate receiving top 25 votes in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll after finishing 15-3-3 (8-1-1 in Conference-USA play) a year ago.
- The Mean Green took home the C-USA trophy after defeating No. 6 Southern Miss in a double-overtime conference championship game.
- In its first scrimmage of the season, North Texas traveled to American Athletic Conference foe, No. 18 South Florida on Aug. 16.
