Knights To Host Black and Gold Scrimmage

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF Volleyball fans will get their first look at the 2019 squad at the Black and Gold Scrimmage on Saturday. Admission for the 2 p.m. event in The Venue is free.

The Knights host their annual intrasquad scrimmage after one week of preseason practice. UCF will also travel to Gainesville on Aug. 24 to face Florida in an exhibition contest before opening the season on Aug. 30 at the Rebel Invitational in Oxford, Miss.

The defending American Athletic Conference champions face a challenging slate this fall, as six teams ranked or receiving votes in the AVCA Preseason Top 25 appear on UCF's 2019 schedule. The Knights, who earned the first Top 25 ranking in program history last season, were also among the teams receiving votes in the preseason poll, which was announced on Tuesday.

The Black and Gold return five starters, including AVCA All-American and American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year McKenna Melville, for the 2019 campaign.
