Pair of Knights Named to Preseason All-Conference Team

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Senior Konya Plummer and sophomore Kristen Scott were recognized by the American Athletic Conference after being named to the Preseason All-Conference Team, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Jamaican international Konya Plummer appeared in 10 games on the UCF backline last season, tallying five complete games. Plummer was in and out of the Knights lineup during the 2018 campaign, helping the Jamaican Women’s National Team become the first Caribbean country to qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Named to the All-Rookie team after the 2018 campaign, Kristen Scott is also included on the 2019 Preseason All-Conference Team. The Orlando, Fla. native started all 18 games of her freshman season and netted six goals to tie for second on the team. She also garnered AAC Rookie of the Week honors after scoring in back-to-back outings against George Mason and Stetson.

Voted on by the league coaches, the Knights were selected to finish third in the AAC preseason poll and received two first-place votes. UCF received 66 total points, 10 points behind the first-place selection.

“It’s always an honor to receive the praise of our peers and be included on these preseason lists,” said Head Coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak. “We also know that the AAC is a touch conference full of teams that can win on any given day, so we’re looking forward to another exciting year.”
