Knights Fall to Alabama in Exhibition

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – In its first preseason exhibition of 2019, the UCF women’s soccer team fell to Alabama 3-0 Sunday afternoon in Tuscaloosa.

Caroline DeLisle tallied five saves in goal, but the the Crimson Tide out-shot the Knights 12-3, with eight shots on frame in the contest.

The Knights fell behind in the 17th minute, as Riley Mattingly netted the first goal for Alabama. The Crimson Tide extended its lead to two before the end of the first half by way of a Carly Wyatt goal.

At the start of the second half, Alabama extended its lead with another goal in the 50th minute, sealing the match in favor of the home squad.

NEXT UP
The Knights come home to host North Texas at the UCF Soccer Complex for their second preseason exhibition before kicking off the official 2019 campaign. UCF will open the 2019 regular season as it plays host to a pair of Big Ten teams in Wisconsin (Aug. 22) and Ohio State (Aug. 28).
