ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's soccer team will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to take on the Crimson Time at noon on Sunday in the first of two preseason matches.
The Knights return 18 members of the squad that went 10-7-1 a year ago, including Kristen Scott who received American Athletic Conference All-Rookie honors. UCF finished third overall in the AAC standings with a 6-3 record in conference play. Nearly half of the 2019 squad includes new faces, with 10 freshmen joining the team along with four transfers.
Last season, Alabama finished the year at 8-8-3 (2-6-2 in Southeastern Conference play), failing to qualify for the post-season. The Crimson Tide returns 15 players from its squad a year ago, with 11 newcomers on the roster.
UCF will play one more tune-up match again North Texas on Sunday, Aug. 18 at the UCF Soccer Complex at 10:00 a.m. Women’s soccer officially begins the 2019 slate on Thursday, Aug. 22, when the Knights play host to Wisconsin at 6p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex.
