Moon Earns All-America Honors

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – For the second time in program history, a UCF women’s golf team member earned All-America honors. Last week, Elizabeth Moon was named All-America Honorable Mention by Golfweek.

Moon led the charge during UCF’s history 2018-19 season. The freshman broke the program stroke average record with 72.2 over 11 tournaments, as well as a team-high 17 rounds under par. The Forrest City, Ark., native earned medalist honors at the Princess Anne Invitational and the Florida Challenge. Moon was named All-Conference in The American and the league’s Freshman of the Year.

The rookie notched six top-10 finishes, including four in the top five. She set the school record lowest 54-hole total with a 203, 7-under, at the Princess Anne Invitational.

After the season, Moon claimed runner-up honors at the Florida State Golf Association Women's Amateur last week.

Moon is the second Knight to earn All-America honors. Liz Earley was the first in program history when she garnered Second Team All-America laurels for the 1991-92 season.
