Adamek Signs Professional Contract

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – After a stellar career at UCF, women’s soccer alumna Kayla Adamek has signed a professional contract in Serbia.

Adamek will play professionally with ?FK Spartak Subotica, a team from Subotica, Serbia. The team has won seven national championships, including six in a row from 2011 to 2015. It also has appeared in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

Adamek played her senior season in 2017 where she was named the American Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year, while also earning first-team all-conference honors with 10 goals, her career best for a single season. Adamek was also named to the second-team all-region team in her final season.

During her time at UCF, Adamek battled adversity through three ACL tears and five surgeries that forced her to miss the 2014-15 season. It was Adamek that helped the Knights push past North Carolina in 2017 after she fed the ball to Christine Creighton to put UCF up 2-1 against the No. 4 Tarheels in front of the crowd at the UCF Soccer Complex.

The Ottawa, Ontario native played 77 games in four seasons with the Knights and scored 26 goals and recorded 14 assists. Adamek earned all-conference honors three out of the four seasons played including all-rookie accolades in the fall of 2013.
