Dawkins, Fall Set for G League Elite Camp

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) –The NBA G League announced on Monday that 40 NBA Draft hopefuls are expected to attend the 2019 NBA G League Elite Camp on May 12-14 in Chicago, and among them were UCF’s Aubrey Dawkins and Tacko Fall.

The three-day event will give prospects eligible for the 2019 NBA Draft an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives.

A select number of players from the group will be invited to participate in the 2019 NBA Draft Combine based on their performance in the NBA G League Elite Camp. The NBA Draft Combine will be held May 14-19 in Chicago.

Both Dawkins and Fall have been projected as high as the mid-to-late second round of this summer’s upcoming NBA Draft and hope to impress scouts next week.

In just one year at UCF, Dawkins made a major impact. The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 15.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while shooting over 40 percent from three-point range and 83 percent from the free throw line.

Fall, meanwhile, left UCF as the program’s all-time leader in blocked shots and NCAA Division I’s all-time leader in field goal percentage. The 7-foot-6 center averaged 11.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocked shots per game as a senior in 2018-19.

Both Dawkins and Fall helped lead the Knights to the program’s first NCAA Tournament win, a First Round triumph over VCU. They then nearly pulled the upset over top-ranked Duke, falling in the final moments in the Second Round matchup.
