UCF Tees Off Monday in NCAA Regional

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 49 UCF women’s golf team continues their season at the NCAA Cle Elum Regional in Washington as they make their 14th appearance in the postseason since the program’s inception.

The Black and Gold tee off on Monday at 1:20 p.m. ET.

Heading to the tournament for UCF will be Elizabeth Moon, Maria Balcazar, Ana Laura Collado, Alyssa Lamoureux, and Chinatsu Kobayashi. This will be the third consecutive tournament this five will be playing together.  

The Knights will be competing in Cle Elum, Wash., hosted by the University of Washington. It will take place Monday, May 6 through Wednesday, May 8 at the Tumble Creek Club.

UCF will be competing with No. 1 USC, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 9 South Carolina, No. 16 Northwestern, No. 19 Washington, No. 23 Miami, Oregon, San Jose State, Oregon State, Old Dominion, Iowa State, San Diego State, Ohio State, Sacramento State, New Mexico State, Boston University, and Southern Illinois.

The quintet finished second at The American Tournament at Hammock Beach Resort for the second-straight season, while AAC Freshman of the Year, Elizabeth Moon, also finished second overall with a 210(-6). Her second-place finish is her third top-five finish this season and sixth top-10 finish.

Moon was also named to The American All-Conference honors along with junior Maria Balcazar.

Each regional will feature 18 teams and six individuals. The low six teams and the low three individuals not on those teams from each regional will advance to the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf National Championships, to be held at Blessings Golf Club, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, hosted by the University of Arkansas.

Since Head Coach Emily Marron took the helm during the 2012-13 season, the Knights have made five NCAA Regional appearances.
