ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 31 UCF men’s tennis team received new rankings for their doubles tandem and singles player on Wednesday as part of the Oracle/ITA’s final spring release of the rankings.
After giving the top doubles tandem in the nation their best shot in the NCAA Doubles Championships, UCF’s Bogdan Pavel and Trey Hilderbrand climbed one spot in the doubles rankings and will end the season at No. 17. The pair climbed as high as No. 14 in the nation this season and collected a 15-5 record with an 8-2 mark against ranked opponents. The duo won nine straight matches at one point in the season, collecting all eight of their ranked wins during that span.
Gabriel Decamps checks in at No. 55 in the singles rankings after having to retire from the first round of the NCAA tournament. Decamps had a chance to win the match in the second set but saw some pushback from his opposition. Early in the third set, Decamps had to exit with an injury. He will finish his 2018-2019 season with an overall record of 18-10. The sophomore went 6-9 at the No. 1 spot during the dual match season.
