Sanchez-Quintanar Assistant Coach of the Year

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 23 UCF women’s tennis team’s Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar has been named the ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year. The announcement comes via the ITA’s official release on Sunday evening.

Sanchez-Quintanar is in her third season as the assistant coach for the Knights. Paired with head coach Bryan Koniecko, the two have brought UCF to a whole new level, posting a 57-18 record in their time here. At home, the Knights have gone 41-6 over the past three seasons. UCF clinched a second consecutive NCAA tournament berth and made it to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.

Not only has she helped the team to one of their best seasons ever, she has also played a huge part in bringing some of UCF’s current stars to the team. These players laid the foundation and acted as cornerstones in building an elite program.

Yesterday, Sanchez-Quintanar was announced as the Southeast region’s assistant coach of the year, which is what made her eligible for the national award.
