UCF Set for Regular Season Finale at Home

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – With the 2019 regular season entering its final phase, the UCF baseball team will take time to honor its 10 senior members this weekend at John Euliano Park during its weekend series against Houston.

Marc Daniels will have the call on FM96.9/AM740 The Game and UCFKnights.TV on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, all starting at 6 p.m.

Saturday will mark the final home game for the senior class, featuring two four-year players, two graduate transfers and two-year members. Together, this group has strung together 132 victories with one conference title, the 2017 American Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship.

The pitching staff has won 32 games with 475 strikeouts and a team ERA of 3.72. Offensively, the seniors have hit a combined .273 with 260 RBI, 29 home runs and 121 stolen bases.

The 10 players will be honored in a pregame ceremony prior to the regular season finale against the Cougars.

STARTING ROTATION
After Chris Williams made his first midweek start in more than two years, the Knights will shake things up a bit for the final weekend in preparation of the American Athletic Conference Tournament next week in Clearwater, Fla.

Grant Schuermann will start the weekend off on Thursday night. The southpaw has a 3.94 ERA over 13 starts and will be the only Knight to feature in ever weekend rotation this season. Jordan Spicer will get the nod for Friday. The right’s last appearance came at Tulane two weeks ago in career performance with nine strikeouts over six innings of work.
