MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (UCFKnights.com) – Kyler Tate teed off Monday morning in his final first round of an NCAA Regional at TPC of Myrtle Beach, a par-72, 6,950-yard course.
Tate wrapped up the first day with a 76(+4) and is tied for 54th place. The senior birdied on the front nine to make the turn at one-under. Tate cooled down in his final four holes to finish with two birdies ad four bogies along with 11 pars.
Tate performed well on the par-fives after recording a birdie on two of the par fives to finish one-under on the day with a scoring average of 4.75 on par-fives.
On the first day of the three-day Regional, Tate was paired with VCU and Robert Morris and will be paired with Middle Tennessee State and Robert Morris for the second round.
Tate will tee off at 9:42 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Eighty-one teams and 45 individuals were selected to compete at one of six regional championship sites. Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 13-15. Thirteen teams and ten individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
