Collado Leads Field at NCAA Regional

CLE ELUM, Wash. (UCFKnights.com) – After the first round of the NCAA Cle Elum Regional, the field is led by UCF sophomore Ana Laura Collado, who recorded a 66(-6) to start the tournament. Collado’s round is the best of her collegiate career and is tied for second-best in program history.

As a team, the Knights will enter the second round in sixth after shooting 290(+2). UCF is ahead of 12 other teams including No. 9 South Carolina, No. 23 Miami, No. 26 Oregon, and No. 36 Oregon State.

Collado was two under on the front nine then strung together three consecutive birdies and added two more to wrap her day.

Alyssa Lamoureux was the next best finisher for UCF shooting 73(+1), while Elizabeth Moon was close behind with a 75(+3).

Maria Balcazar tallied three birdies for a 76(+4) and Chinatsu Kobayashi finished with an 80(+8).

The Knights collected 14 birdies and 53 pars. The Black and Gold were dominate on the par fives with an average of 4.80 strokes per par five to finish the day five under.

The Knights will tee of Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. ET to begin the second round of the NCAA Regional.
