ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF baseball team will have to wait until Sunday morning for a shot to clinch the War On I-4 series against USF at John Euliano Park, as rain interrupted play in the top of the seventh inning.
The two ballclubs, in conjunction with the American Athletic Conference, agreed to resume play with one out and no runners on in the top of the seventh inning.
UCF jumped out to an early lead with four runs over the first three innings. The Knights added another run in the fifth to make it a 5-0 advantage.
Chris Williams tossed 6 1/3 innings before the train struck, scattering four hits and punching out six batters.
FAN INFORMATION
The game will be played to conclusion on Sunday. After the first game ends, there will be a 45 minute wait before the start of the series finale, as the stadium will be emptied. Fans will need to have a ticket to the series finale to re-enter the ballpark.
