ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s golf team heads to their final tournament before the American Athletic Conference Championship in Macon, Ga., Monday, April 8 and Tuesday, April 9.
The event will take place at Brickyard Golf Course and hosted by Mercer and will be the first time the Knights compete in the tournament.
The first two rounds take place on Monday, April 8 with a 36-hole shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The event concludes on Tuesday, April 9, for the final 18 holes with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The Knights will face-off with 14 other teams, all of whom are in the top-100. The Knights will be going up against a stacked field with No. 36 UNC, No. 38 Kennesaw State, No. 39 Old Dominion, and No. 44 Mississippi State.
The lineup will consist of Elizabeth Moon, Maria Balcazar, Alyssa Lamoureux, Ana Laura Collado, and Chinatsu Kobayashi.
As a team, the Knights are ranked No. 48 in the country, while freshman Moon is ranked at No. 22.
UCF has had a month break since their last tournament at the Florida Gators Invitational. The Knights took home a seventh-place finish with two Power 6 wins over North Carolina State and Ohio State.
Moon was led the Knights and the majority of the field finishing in second place and just one stroke behind the top finisher. The freshman shot 207(-3) for her fifth top-10 finish of her rookie season.
The Knights have over 50 wins this season as they seek out a bid to an NCAA Regional.
