Knights Head to Augusta

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – After winning the FAU Spring Championship, the UCF men’s golf team is back in action Saturday, April 6 - Sunday, April 7 competing in the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, formerly known as the 3M Augusta Invitational.

The 41st edition of Augusta's home event at Forest Hills Golf Club features 15 teams competing for two days on the eve of The Masters. Five teams competing are nationally-ranked in the top 50 and two are seated in the top 10.

The Knights will battle with Augusta, Air Force, No. 39 Arkansas, Georgia State, Houston, No. 24 Illinois, Mercer, Northern Illinois, Notre Dame, No. 18 South Carolina, No. 7 Texas, USC Aiken, Virginia Tech, and No. 3 Wake Forest.

The first two rounds take place on Saturday, April 6 with a 36-hole shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The event concludes on Sunday, April 7, for the final 18 holes with tee times off holes one and 10 from 8:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.

UCF has finished in the top-two in their last two tournaments including a win last weekend in Boca Raton, Fla. Bobby Bai took home the overall trophy and Kyler Tate was crowned runner-up.

Bai shot 200(-16) to tie the program record for the lowest 54-hole individual total to lead the Knights to their second-best finish ever with 829(-35). In the final round, UCF recorded a 268(-20), their lowest round ever in the history of the program.

The Knights will not be changing their lineup for the third-straight week in hopes of a strong finish in Augusta.

Bai is exempt for the tournament by virtue of a first-place finish at the FAU Spring Championship. The rest of the lineup was based on coach’s selection as there was no qualifying for this event.
