#24 UCF to visit #12 Oklahoma State Friday

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 24 UCF women’s tennis team will face their toughest test of the season as they will travel to Stillwater, Okla. to take on the No. 12 Oklahoma State Cowgirls on Friday at 6 p.m.

The Knights are ready for the test though, as they have won 16 straight matches and are playing some of their best tennis as of late. During the winning streak, the Knights have defeated five ranked opponents, topped three SEC schools and outscored their opposition 85-18.

During this run, a few players have gone on remarkable streaks of their own. Both Natalia Serrano and Rebeka Stolmar have won 12 consecutive singles matches, bringing their records to 13-1 and 13-3 respectively. Ksenia Kuznetsova and Nandini Sharma have also been on a roll, losing just one singles match each in their last ten matches.

Oklahoma State comes into the match with a record of 14-6 and a 7-2 mark at home. Their only home losses this season have come to No. 8 UCLA and No. 6 Texas. Their last match was the loss to Texas which snapped their 10-match winning streak.

The Cowgirls have three ranked singles players. Katarina Stresnakova is their highest ranked singles player at No. 38 in the nation. Behind Stresnakova is Marina Guinart at No. 102, followed by Bunyawi Thamchaiwat at No. 119.

Oklahoma State technically has two doubles tandems ranked in the Oracle/ITA doubles rankings, but both have the same player as part of the two pairs. If Sofia Blanco is coupled with Catherine Gulihur, the two are ranked at No. 21, but if Blanco is teamed up with Lisa Marie Rioux, the tandem is ranked No. 70 in the nation.
