ATLANTA, Ga. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF track and field team jumped out to a strong start at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday.

 

The Knights posted 10 top 10 finishes in six of its events, with multiple top 10 finishes in three of them.

 

All four of UCF’s distance runners posted personal bests in their events on Friday. Kaitlyn Soltis (4:40.39) and Katie Pinnell (4:41.22) started with a pair of top 10 finishes in the 1500-meter run. Making her debut in the 5000, Victoria Jung posted a mark of 17:32.06. Jessica Dolan joined her in the top 25 with a personal-best mark of 17:57.72.

 

Four Knights finished in the top 10 of the 100-meter dash. While Shian Hyde (11.54), Ciara Holback (11.66) and Shaniya Williams (11.86) have each placed in the top 10 this season, they were joined by Imani Clark, who made her outdoor debut with an 11.89 mark for sixth place.

 

UCF picked up a pair of top 10 finishes in the hammer throw as Jhane’ Carter (182-6/55.63m) and Gabby Durant (180-10/55.12m) started the day off with second and third place finishes, respectively. Zharia Moore (14.34) finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles and Devin D’Oliveira posted her second-consecutive 19-foot long jump to finish eighth at 19-0/5.79m.

 

The Knights will continue action at the George C. Griffin Track on Saturday.
