ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF track and field team continues its outdoor campaign this weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
The two-day meet begins Friday at the George C. Griffin Track. Field events begin at 11 a.m., while races on the track begin at 6 pm. A full schedule can be found here.
Saturday’s field events begin at 11 a.m. while racing on the track starts at 1 p.m.
The Knights return to action after a speedy weekend at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational. UCF posted personal or season bests in five track events, while a pair of long jumpers finished in the top 10 in their collegiate debuts.
Through its first four meets, UCF has seen a pair of freshmen records fall as Devin D’Oliveira set the 400-meter hurdles mark while Charlotte Crook bumped Anne-Marie Blaney off the 1500-meter run mark.
Nationally, UCF is making strides. As a group, the 100m squad moved up to 11th on the USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings while the 200m group holds the No. 15 spot. The Black and Gold rank 20th in both the shot put and hammer throw.
UCF is also well-represented on the American Athletic Conference performance list, boasting top 10 marks in 14 different events. Five of those feature multiple Knights among the top 10 marks. UCF holds the top mark in the 4x100 relay and Shian Hyde has the fastest 100-meter dash time among conference competitors this season.
