UCF Ties Highest Ranking In History Again

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The Knights jumped up in ranking to tie their program record at No. 28 in the Oracle/ITA rankings for the second time this season. The ranking comes after a 2-0 final two days of the regular season.

The Knights have fluctuated somewhere between 28 and 42 in ranking for the last month and look to surge through and achieve their best ranking yet. A strong run in the American Athletic Conference championship tournament could help UCF’s cause. The No. 28 ranking was first achieved on April 5, 2017 but then again reached this season on April 2.

In singles play, the Gabriel Decamps remains ranked inside the top-40, checking in at No. 35. Since the last edition of the rankings, Decamps has not complete a match, but has been in position to win in both outings.

As for doubles, Bogdan Pavel and Trey Hilderbrand have continued to skyrocket in the rankings all the way up to No. 16 this week. This is the highest the duo has been ranked all season, topping their personal best of No. 20 from two weeks ago. The tandem went 2-0 in the two final matches of the season, beating the No. 60 and No. 67 duos in the nation. The pair have won seven doubles matches in a row and are winners of nine of their last ten. They have also gone 6-1 against ranked opponents.
