UCF In Second Heading Into Final Round

PALM COAST, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s golf team heads into the final round of the American Athletic Conference Championship in second place with freshman Elizabeth Moon tied for first place overall.

The Knights shot 297(+9) on day two, tied for the third best round of the day. UCF has a 591(+15) after two days and four strokes ahead of third place, East Carolina.

UCF is led by Moon who shot 71(-1) Monday afternoon for a 141(-3) total over the first two rounds. Moon started the day tied for second and ends the day tied for first place with Houston’s, Leonie Harm. Moon and Harm will be golfing together Tuesday for the third-straight round.

Ana Laura Collado also shot 71(-1) for round two with four birdies bringing her to a 148(+4) entering Tuesday. Collado jumped 21 spots on Monday to hold the lone place of 14th.

Maria Balcazar posted a76(+4) on day two, while Chinatsu Kobayashi recorded a 79(+7).

Alyssa Lamoureux withdrew from the competition.

The Knights are the best team in the field on par fives scoring an average of 4.97 and are a total of one-under over the two days.

UP NEXT

The Knights tee off for the final round on Tuesday at 9:20 a.m. and will be paired with Houston for the third consecutive day.
