AAC Tournament Up Next for UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The American Athletic Conference Tournament is up next for the UCF women’s golf team as they head to Palm Coast, Fla., for a 54-hole battle with the nine other teams in the conference.

The tournament will be held from Sunday thru Tuesday at the Hammock Beach Resort on the par-72 Conservatory Course.

Maria Balcazar will be golfing in the one spot for the three-day tournament followed by Ana Laura Collado, Chinatsu Kobayashi, Alyssa Lamoureux, and Elizabeth Moon.

The Knights will be a No. 2 seed heading into the tournament and will be paired with the No. 1 seed Houston to get the event started Sunday morning.

UCF enters their final scheduled event ranked No. 51 according to Golfstat.com and is the second-highest ranked team in The American with Houston ringing in at No. 34. ECU is just behind UCF with a No. 55 ranking and will be the No. 3 seed in the tournament.

The Knights have over 50 wins this season as they seek out a bid to an NCAA Regional. Historically, the top 55 teams in the country earn a bid to an NCAA Regional.

The Black and Gold won two tournaments this season and had another top-three finish out of their nine events. Both EMoon and Balcazar boasts impressive finishes as Balcazar had four top-20 overall finishes and Moon has three top-five, five top-five, and five top-20 finishes. Moon has been ranked the majority of her freshman year and is currently ranked No. 42 by Golfweek.
