Knights Recap ECU Win, Preview Lady Gator

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- The UCF women's golf team has picked up victories in each of its last two outings. Most recently, the Knights defeated ECU in a match play event at Eagle Creek.

The victory over the Pirates was a close one, as the five matches were evenly split. The UCF victory came down to a tie-breaker and the Knights had a two-stroke edge.

The same group that defeated ECU and took the team trophy at the recent Moon Golf Invitational will hit the course this weekend in Gainevsille for the Lady Gator Invitational.

Elizabeth Moon, Maria Balcazar, Alyssa Lamoureux, Ana Laura Collado and Chinatsu Kobayashi will hit the course for UCF. Seven of the 13 teams in the tournament are ranked in the Golfstat Top 50, including UCF.

"We have to play well there," head coach Emily Marron said of the Lady Gator. "Each and every week now, we know we have to keep playing well."

The tournament will be held at the Par 70 Mark Bostick Golf Course, home to the Lady Gator since 1978. The course will play at just over 6,700 yards for this tournament. Saturday will consist of 36 holes of golf, beginning at 8:15 a.m. The third and final round will begin Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
