ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF baseball dropped its series finale to UConn on Sunday afternoon, 10-0 over seven innings.

Chandler Robertson went 1-for-2 with a single and reached on a hit by pitch. Brandon Hernandez and Dallas Beaver added a single and a double, respectively.

The offense could not find an answer to UConn starter Jimmy Wang. The righty went five innings with a pair of strikeouts, while working around two walks and three hits in a scoreless effort.

The Knights found themselves behind early. UConn took a three-run lead over the opening two innings, before plating five in the third to take an 8-0 lead. The Huskies tacked on a pair in the top of the sixth

Luis Ferrer came out of the bullpen with two outs in the third to settle things down. The lefty needed one pitch to get out of the third. Ferrer held the Huskies off the board in the fourth and fifth innings. He finished with a pair of strikeouts with four walks and four hits over 3 1/3 innings of work.

Zack Hunsicker came on in the seventh to toss a scoreless inning with one strikeout.

• The Knights were shuout for the first time since March 30, 2018, at Memphis.
• Ferrer threw a career-high 62 pitches.
• Beaver’s base hit was a double, his eighth of the year.
• UCF left six runners on base to UConn’s 12.
